Financial Accountant | Stellenbosch

Our client, a well-established accounting and advisory firm in Stellenbosch, is seeking a skilled and commercially minded Financial Accountant to join their team.
This role is best suited to a technically strong accountant who enjoys working across multiple entities, can manage complex accounting processes independently, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced professional environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles
- Registered PA (SA), AGA(SA) or CA(SA)
- Minimum 2–4 years post-articles experience
- Strong accounting and taxation knowledge
- Experience working with multiple entities / group structures
- Proficient in Xero, Caseware and Microsoft Excel
- Experience preparing management accounts and annual financial statements
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
Advantageous Experience
- Property industry or investment group exposure
- Intercompany loan accounts and group consolidations
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
- Processing and reconciliation of complex accounting transactions
- Management of intercompany accounts and group structures
- Preparation of annual financial statements
- VAT, PAYE and income tax calculations and submissions
- Reviewing bookkeeping and accounting work prepared by junior staff
- Assisting clients with accounting, tax and operational queries
- Liaising directly with clients and SARS where required
- Identifying process improvements and strengthening internal controls
- Assisting with cash flow reporting, budgeting and financial analysis
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically competent, and able to take ownership of their portfolio with and without supervision. The ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain high accuracy under pressure is essential.
Remuneration
Market-related salary dependent on qualification and experience.
