Minimum Requirements
- Must have completed SAICA articles in a small to medium sized CA firm
- 1 – 2 years’ post articles experience in a similar role would be preferred
- An interest in pursuing a career in the CA profession is advantageous
- Must be a newly qualified Chartered Accountant or close to qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, i.e. possess a B Com (Accounting and / or Honours / CTA degree and studying further
- Caseware experience would be essential
- A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages
- Must have own transport and a valid driver’s license
Role & Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Planning of audit assignments
- Managing planning queries and changes
- Preparation & Review of annual financial statements & supporting documents
- Audit fieldwork
- Assist with Taxation issues
- Preparation of budgets and proposals for clients
- Liaising with clients face to face
- Productivity and WIP management
- Supervision, review and appraisal of audit staff & their work
- Supporting the Partners with any duties / projects as required
Specifications
Successful applicants would need to:
- Have knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SME accounting standards, international auditing statements, South African tax legislation and other related Acts.
- Have the ability to adapt to different situations
- Take initiative and ownership of work responsibility
- Have the ability to work well in a team environment
- Have the ability to work under pressure
- Have good communication and presentations skills
- Have good time management, problem solving and delegation skills
- Knowledge of all SAICA and IRBA regulations and related systems
- Be able to deal with a wide array of clientele
- Be able to work independently, as well as be a team player.
Salary
Our client offers a salary of R40 000 – R50 000 depending on qualification and experience.
